The Ningbo Qianwan New Area General Aviation Airport has achieved a successful one-time power supply through the efforts of State Grid Ningbo Hangwan Power Supply Branch. The smooth completion of this critical milestone marks another solid step toward the airport's full operational readiness.
It is reported that the Ningbo Qianwan New Area General Aviation Airport, with a total investment exceeding 700 million yuan, is classified as a regional A1-category general aviation airport in the Zhejiang Province. It serves as a comprehensive service hub for regional general aviation operations and is a key component of Qianwan's focus on developing the entire aerospace industrial chain. Earlier this year, the airport's runway engineering, terminal and air traffic control projects, weak current systems, and navigation lighting systems were successively completed and accepted. To meet the needs of future flight operations and product testing, the airport project team applied for a power capacity of 3,260 kVA. Upon receiving the application, the Hangwan Power Supply Branch dispatched specialists for on-site surveys, coordinated with project stakeholders on power supply plans, construction acceptance, and metering procedures, and fully supported the airport's construction power demands. Additionally, the company organized regular maintenance of external power lines and substation equipment, conducting comprehensive inspections using infrared thermometers and drone patrols to identify and promptly address potential hazards, ensuring successful power delivery.
"With the airport now successfully powered, we will closely monitor its electricity usage, optimize the surrounding grid framework, and enhance power supply reliability to ensure uninterrupted and safe operations," stated a relevant official from the Hangwan Power Supply Branch.
In the next phase, the Hangwan Power Supply Branch will continue to collaborate with airport management, conducting regular safety inspections covering power sources, receiving facilities, emergency backup systems, operational management, and non-electrical security measures. The company will proactively provide technical support to safeguard the official launch of th
