The project has recently successfully passed the intermediate structural acceptance, with construction progress exceeding 65%.
It is reported that the project of the Qianwan Storage and Distribution Center Phase I officially commenced construction on September 30, 2024, and is striving for completion by the end of 2025. Located to the south of the Jinci Road and west of the Xingci Fifth Road, the project has a total investment of approximately 250 million yuan, covering an area of about 67.5 mu, with a total construction area of around 28,400 square meters, including about 28,200 square meters above ground. The main construction content includes agricultural trade halls, cold storage, comprehensive service buildings, central kitchens, and other supporting facilities. Upon completion, it will become a regional large warehouse with emergency function conversion capabilities, providing important support for improving the efficiency of living materials circulation and ensuring supply capacity in Qianwan. In January of this year, the project was successfully selected as a pilot project of Ningbo's modern commercial circulation system.
Entering the project construction site, several steel-structured factory buildings can be seen rising from the ground. After being put into use, they will respectively undertake the storage, trading, loading, unloading, and distribution functions for products such as grains, oils, dried goods, non-staple food, fruits, vegetables, meat, aquatic products, and frozen fresh goods. At the same time, the project is also building an intelligent control platform to further optimize transaction management. "In the future, residents of Qianwan will be able to enjoy more affordable and fresher food," said a relevant person in charge of the project construction party, Qianwan Holding Group. After the full operation of the Qianwan Storage and Distribution Center, it will significantly enhance the "flexibility" and "resilience" of the regional agricultural and sideline cold fresh industry chain and supply chain, while effectively addressing Qianwan's shortcomings in logistics storage of living materials, further improving regional logistics efficiency, strengthening Qianwan's urban supply and distribution capacity, and providing "one-stop" services such as living materials trading, storage, distribution, and e-commerce for the local and surrounding areas.
"We will strictly promote work in accordance with project management requirements, fully ensuring project construction, while exploring more possibilities for the operation and development of the storage and distribution center," said the person in charge. In addition, the project also includes flexible spaces that can be flexibly configured for retail stalls, night market setups, providing leisure activity venues, and adding parking functions. At the same time, it will construct and optimize the riverside space landscape, creating a public space integrating functions such as urban and rural markets, waterfront leisure, and cultural services, unlocking more consumption scenarios.
